Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011

pinot2011

Bright.

Pinot Noir is nothing if not fickle and 2011 in the Adelaide Hills was a perfect opportunity for the grape to show off some of its more petulant qualities, with only the truly fortunate managing any crop at all. We clearly live beneath a very lucky star indeed because not only do we have a Pinot Noir to show for our efforts, but we believe we have produced a rather lovely, bright drop. This is a light, Beaujolais Nouveau-coloured wine that is pure cherry brandy on the nose – lively, fresh and sunny. The flavour of the wine is red cherries and a sprinkling of nutmeg with good acidic lift and decent length. A surprisingly cheerful outcome! Made with 100% single-site Pinot Noir. One new and one 1 year old French oak barrel were used to make 50 cases of this wine. $32
