Although the Adelaide Hills is a relatively new wine region, it has rapidly gained a reputation for producing excellent cool climate wines. However, one of the frustrations for visitors who are curious about wines from the Adelaide Hills is is that a number of the region’s best wine producers do not have Cellar Doors where you can try their wines. Also, there is a vast difference in wines produced from the warmer (lower) parts of the Adelaide Hills and consumers will, over time, come to notice this. Hopefully in the near future Lofty Valley can open a cellar door and show you what we mean! We intend to have more than wine for sale, as Lani is a true artisan and into alpaca products, interesting tasty items, exotic teas and plenty more… (watch this space!)
If you make the trip up Collins Road before we open, then Barratt’s is open on weekends and they have a stunning array of similar wines — and a bigger range with Merlot and award winning Sauvignon Blanc (just to name a few).
